Jane Kuechle Disabled Workers; Technology Closes the Gap

Let's start with a top worry for any company: the bottom line. As studies by the President's Job Accommodation Network committee have shown, most workers with disabilities require no special accommodations. Among those who do, 15% cost the employer nothing. A little more than half of the workplace modifications cost $500 or l… Continue

Pete McDowell Look outside

Is there anyone standing outside of your door, just dying to do business with you? I doubt it. When I started in sales long ago I was called me into the company owner’s office on the first day I reported for work. Here’s the brief conversation: Owner: “Pete…welcome. We’re glad to have you on board. Do you see anyone standing outside of our door, just dying to come in and do business with us? Me, glancing at the front door to the offices: “Ummm, no sir.” Owner: You have to go out and bring in the… Continue

Joe "The Connector" Kennedy Do Eastside Entrepreneurs Really Want to Celebrate? EE Aniversary Party in Danger of Being Cancelled

Over the past year it has been my pleasure to help organize networking events for Eastside Entrepreneurs - many of them FREE, most of them with a lot of effort and some of them with considerable cost to myself. Many of our members have personally told me that they want to support the group and me in particular so that we keep on having "official" Eastside Entrepreneurs events. This is the time to step up. Fellow EE members… Continue

Every year hackers get smarter and sneakier about how to infiltrate people’s computers, steal vital personal information, and spread mischief. So what’s a safe Web surfe… Continue

Pete McDowell a change of scenery

I met a few friends or business connections today in two locations here in the Seattle-Bellevue area. I met one person at the Bellevue Hyatt Hotel and another at the University Village Starbucks (near UW). The Hyatt had a huge addition put on over the past two years and has been open for a few months. The connecting area between the original hotel lobby and the new one is a gorgeous atrium- a very attractive and comfortable place to sit and converse. The new tower has new ballrooms and meeting r… Continue
